ANDREWS HOUSE
Andrews House is a four-bedded terraced house situated in a pleasant residential area of Blackpool and which accommodates three children and/or young people. The house is close to Blackpool town centre yet far enough away to be undisturbed by possible negative features of the town’s activities (approx. five minutes by motorised transport).

The home has been open since April 2000 and is now an accepted part of the local community.  There is easy access to all local amenities, such as shopping, leisure clubs, Stanley Park, crazy golf, football ground, swimming pools, cinemas, go-karting, bowling and many other activity-based facilities.  Facilities that are within easy reach and accessible within thirty minutes include Lytham St Annes where there is Fairhaven Lake and Fleetwood Freeport Shopping Outlet. 

Andrews House has a small, welcoming staff team who enjoy arranging and participating in outings or family visits, if necessary.  The home does have its own house car but, as a team, they try and encourage the use of public transport – the buses run frequently and the train station is a short distance away in the town centre.

Local schools are within easy reach and it is possible to walk to the nearest and utilise transport to those further a field.

BAKER HOUSE
Baker House is a terraced property located in a popular area of the South Shore area in Blackpool. 

The house is close to the Pleasure Beach and all local amenities.  Blackpool Golden Mile is supported by its three large piers and offers a wide range of activities including the Sea Life Centre, Blackpool Tower, Multiplex Cinema, zoo, go-karting, tennis courts, theatres, roller Blading Park and an ice rink.  Boating and golfing facilities can be found close by in St. Annes which also boasts a fabulous promenade. 

The two local high schools (one of which is renowned for its indoor and outdoor football facilities) are both easily in reach by public transport.

Baker House has a small and friendly mixed age and gender staff team who enjoy arranging and participating in outings or family visits, if necessary.  The house has its own car although, as a team, we try and encourage the children and young people to make use of the public transport facilities available to us as we believe that this promotes independence and also gives the young people the chance to get to know their local area more thoroughly

The staff team at Baker House have established close links with community groups including the YMCA, Connexions Centre and the Wyre Community Services in order that we can offer the children and young people in our care adequate advice and input.  The provision of careers advice, education and social inclusion are high on our agenda of support.  We aim to provide a safe, secure, non-institutionalised home with a ‘needs led’ approach in social care.

EVANS HOUSE
Evans House is a five bedroom semi-detached house situated in the West Bridgford area of Nottingham.  There is a small paved area at the front of the house and to the rear is a concreted area, double garage and a hard standing parking area.

Cooking and washing facilities are accessible to all the children and young people resident in the home and they are actively encouraged to prepare food and when appropriate wash their own clothes.  The dining room also serves as an education room for those young people engaged in in-house education.  It is equipped with a PC and an extensive range of educational materials.

Each young person has a single bedroom and after an initial 12-week assessment period, they are given the opportunity to choose personal colour schemes for their bedrooms.  Furniture is regularly checked and maintained in good order.

The home is situated in a largely residential area of Nottingham and is approximately one mile from the city centre which can be reached by a regular bus service.  There are several local shops within walking distance.  There are many amenities in the local area comprising of sporting, cultural and leisure facilities.

Evans House has a small, friendly and welcoming staff team who enjoy arranging and participating in outings and family visits.  We have a house car but as a team we try and encourage the use of public transport as much as possible in order to encourage and promote independence and confidence in getting to know Nottingham.

The area in which the house is situated is under the County Education Board and there are several schools in the local area including two high schools.  These are accessible and provide learning support, which necessary, and operate effective anti-bullying policies.  Good working relationships have been developed and the schools have been very supportive to the children and young people living at Evans House.

KIMBER HOUSE
Kimber House is a five-bedroom terrace house situated in the Carrington area of Nottingham. Cooking and washing facilities are accessible to all the young people resident in the home and young people are actively encouraged to prepare food and wash their own clothes, where appropriate. There is an education room for those young people receiving in-house education that is equipped with a PC and various other educational materials.

A single bedroom is provided for each young person. After their 12-week assessment period, the young people are given the opportunity to choose colour schemes for their bedroom. Furniture is regularly checked and maintained in good order.

The home is situated approximately 1 mile from Nottingham City centre.  There are several local shops within walking distance of the home.  The house is within the catchment area for a number of high schools with others also accessible.

Amenities in the local area include: Carlton Forum, Royal Concert Hall,  Nottingham Castle, Rushcliffe Leisure Centre, Caves of Nottingham, The Tales of Robin Hood, National Ice Arena, Galleries of Justice, Theatre Royal, Megabowl, Warner Village Cinema, and many opportunities to enjoy shopping, cafes & restaurants

Further a field, we regularly visit Wollaton Hall and Park, Newstead Abbey, Clumber Park, Waterworld, Alton Towers and American Theme Parks.

A house car is provided for use in transporting young people on visits and activities.  However, the use of public transport is encouraged wherever appropriate to promote independence and confidence in getting to know Nottingham.

The staff team at Kimber House offer young people a blend of staff representative of different ages, gender, culture, ethnicity and background. Experienced staff work alongside staff from more diverse backgrounds to provide a well-balanced dedicated team of care staff.

JACKSON HOUSE

Jackson House is a bright, happy house laid out over three floors.  It is spacious and warm and is able to care for up to three children and/or young people. 

The house is situated in a residential area in Southsea and has a garden at the rear of the house and a car parking space at the front.

Southsea beach is a two minute walk from the house, where they are many recreational amenities available.  Also close by is the Pyramid Centre (a large swimming pool complex with floats and slides), The Blue Reef Aquarium and Clarence Parade – a large funfair on the pier.

Portsmouth historic dockyard, a navel base that is home to some of the most famous ships in history, is in the local area, as is a natural history museum and Gunwharf Quay – a large shopping development that includes bowling and a multi-screen cinema.  There are a few local shops in the immediate area of the house and Portsmouth city centre which is a major shopping attraction is approximately 10 minutes away.

Jackson House has a small and friendly staff team who enjoy arranging and participating in outings or family visits, if necessary.  We have the use of a house car but, as a team, we try and encourage the use of public transport to promote independence and confidence in getting to know Portsmouth and Southsea.

As a staff group, we feel that Jackson House is a lovely, warm home where we hope that all the children and young people who stay with us, for however long a period, will feel welcomed and enjoy living here.

SUTTON HOUSE
Sutton House is situated in Littlehampton, which is on the south coast between Brighton and Portsmouth.  There is a small garden to the front of the property and a much larger, west facing, garden to the rear of the property.  Sutton House is in a residential area but it is only a minute away from the beach, a park and a further large grassed area.

Littlehampton is a seaside resort which offers many amenities including a small town centre where there are high street shops.  The town centre is less than five minutes walk from the house.  Also close by is the harbour wall and pier (excellent for fishing and crabbing), as well as Harbour Park which is an amusement arcade with various small fairground rides.  A little further along the seafront there are golfing facilities, a skateboard ramp, tennis courts and the local swimming and sports centre.  Within easy walking distance of the house are many clubs including Army and Sea Cadets, Badminton, Squash, Dance and Theatre.  There are several youth clubs within 5-10 minutes of the house.

Sutton House has a friendly and welcoming staff team who enjoy arranging, and participating in, outings or family visits (if necessary).  We have a house car but, as a team, we try and encourage the use of public transport to encourage independence in our young people. The train station is a short walk from the house and buses run frequently from the town centre.

There are various schools and colleges in Littlehampton and the surrounding villages which can be reached either by walking or by using public transport. 

The staff team at Sutton House believe it to be a lovely, warm home where they hope that all the children and young people who stay here (for however long a period) will feel welcome and secure.
