Equip the child or young person with the
necessary skills for an independent future, based on their

Every effort will be made to allow the
child or young person to become a fully functioning member of
society and staff are required to encourage outside interests
with local groups, youth clubs and similar interests, or work
placements where appropriate
-
Provide opportunities to form
relationships with adults and other young people in a caring
environment and provide all children and young people in our
care with the maximum opportunities to develop these
relationships with clear boundaries and guidelines
-
Accept placements for boys and girls aged
10 to 17 years with a view to providing a stable, caring
environment. Our aim is to develop self-esteem, confidence and the
ability to form appropriate relationships
-
Ensure that the number of staff on duty
is flexible, in order to allow staff to be tailored to each
individual young person's needs. We believe this will provide
the basis for a non-institutionalised setting and will help to
prepare the child or young person for a return to family life, a
substitute family or full independence
